Bloggies Beware

This morning while reading FOXNEWS I came across a rather interestig and eye opening article:

It read this:

Thursday, April 30, 2009

Internet users face regular "brownouts" that will freeze their computers as capacity runs out in cyberspace, according to research to be published later this year.

Experts predict that consumer demand, already growing at 60 percent a year, will start to exceed supply as early as 2010 because of more people working online and the soaring popularity of bandwidth-hungry Web sites such as YouTube and services such as the BBC's iPlayer.

It will initially lead to computers being disrupted and going offline for several minutes at a time. Beginning in 2012, however, PCs and laptops are likely to operate at a much reduced speed, rendering the Internet an "unreliable toy."

When Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the British scientist, wrote the code that transformed a private computer network into the World Wide Web in 1991, the Internet appeared to be a limitless resource.

However, a report being compiled by Nemertes Research, a respected American think-tank, will warn that the Web has reached a critical point and that even the recession has failed to stave off impending problems.

Whoa! Slow blogging as soon as 2010. that is next year.

I dont think it is worth it to fret ad worry about things like this.

We all need to keep our right perspectives:

1. God is in control

2. Technology is always advancing

3. There are things in life way more important than this

April Showers...

Bridal Showers that is!
And It happens to be my first.

My sweet friends at College are throwing me and Mr. H our first shower tomorrow.
I can't wait to spend time with my friends all together and of course the suspense of what the gifts are is killing me!
My friends have banned me from looking at my registry to see what has been bought...dangit.
I will come back tomorrow (or monday) with pics from the shower ;)

Today is going to be flat out crazy:
Sister is here visiting. I have 2 HUGE papers due by tomorrow.
I am practicing Sister's prom hair. We want to go into town to go shopping around. The girls wanna go see the new Beyonce movie 'Obsessed' tonight.

So much to do so very little time.
I better stop blog stalking and work on these papers.

Have a lovely weekend,

I have this theory...

You can tell a man by his shoes

-it is a theory that I have had since I was a pre-teen.
I even googled the 'topic' to see what hits I would get...low-and-behold others view the same.

let me explain:

clean 'keep them looking brand new' tennis shoe wearers- they may be anal and a little on the OCD side, but I feel like these guys value their things and know the importance of a dollar...they also want to look clean and put-together.

Rainbow Sandal man- 2 things: either the fashion bandwagon jumper OR a man that likes to keep it real and live free and easy. This guy can go 2 ways: beachy or preppy...either way girls go for this guy! This guy also may sport boat shoes and new balances.

Boat Shoe Show: Same as the Rainbows...could be a product of a fashion sweep but if not, this guy was raised preppy and proud. If were lucky it could be boat shoes and bow ties!

The Converse All-Star- I see this guy as fun loving and not afraid to show his personality. These guys are usually the good friends and the brothers. But...Converse are making a HUGE comeback, so we will see guys of all kinds rocking the Chucks. Fun!

Snakeskin Cowboy boot- Always an interesting character. Whether your dad, grand-dad or the guy on the street, this man who sports snake on a boot has a personality worth getting to know. Beware of Snakeskin in the big city...It reeks of flashy and scary!

Business shoe man- He means business. This guy is career minded and goal focused. Could be a good thing and could be bad! Also watch out of the impersonators... the guys who wear business attire at inappropriate times...definitely a sign of trying too hard!

Basketball Shoes 24/7: I want to shake these guys and inform them of ALL of the different shoe styles the world offers! These guys either tell that they are really niave, lazy or indifferent.
Basketball hightops and blue jeans do not work together!!! Atheletic or not...keep the hightops on the court...bless their hearts.

Worn out shoes of any kind: these guys can give a false vibe. A lot of guys choose to keep their old worn out duds because of their comfort, and don't realize that It gives them a sloppy, lazy "I don't care" look. They may be comfy boys but the shoes need to be replaced!

Shoe laces pulled tight: and I mean as tight as they will go, so that the shoe string bow is flopping all the way to the ground. This guy shows a little bit of a nerdy side. Not sure if its insecurity or preference, but choosing to wear your shoes tight to your feet definitely tell something about these guys.

Cowboy/work boot: Ye-haww! these boys are southern through and through. If the boots are kept clean then it says the guy appriciates his boots and takes time to care for them. If they are rough looking and upkept, then this guy may not really give a hoot. Be ready to have some fun with these guys!

Airforce ones: I think these guys speak for themselves. thug or wanna-be thug. usually a jokester and will definitly make you laugh. Beware that this guy may be on the cocky side. A little arrogance can play into the Bad-A** persona.

And the list can go on.
What do you think? Can you tell something about a guy by his shoes?

Have a lovely Thursday,
XOXO

HOW TO Tuesday

How To: Make a Wedding Veil

1. Purchase your Tulle from a local fabric store (or wal-mart)
-Usually cost less than $3/yd.

2. Pick out a hair comb. Your choice how fancy you go…If you are wanting to save some $$ choose a plastic clear comb (you won’t see much of it anyway when its in your hair)

3. Fold tulle to the length you want and fold according to the amount of layers you desire.
(I have a total of 4 layers…2 long and 2 short)
-Folding tulle in half will give 2 layers.
4. Lay out the tulle on a large table or the floor. Fold it in half and place paperweights or other heavy objects to hold it down flat. Coffee mugs are a good choice if you do not have paperweights. Cut the edge (not the folded edge) of the veil into a curved shape. You can use a pattern to do this or just slightly round the edges.

5. Using a Sewing Machine or hand stitch: Sew 2 gathering stitches across the top of the tulle.
-the gathering stitches are to allow the tulle to gather at the top6. To gather the tulle: Unfold the tulle and sew 2 running stitches along the straight edge. About 3 inches inside of the edge, using a needle and heavy white thread or sewing machine, sew all the way across the veil. After sewing, hold the thread at one end and push the tulle together to gather it.

7. Attach the gathered tulle to the comb of your choice by using a thread that matches the color tulle you chose
.

8. Attach beads or crystals anywhere you like for an added flare.

(this is a pic of an unfinished veil-It has no shape and no decorations)

YOU HAVE YOUR VEIL!

I hope this helps make you day unique and special!

Have a happy 'how-to' Tuesday

BUT! I do love a great Easter Funny :)
So funny! Love it!

BUT I REALLY LOVE THIS HOLIDAY BECAUSE:

I hope everyone has an Easter filled with love from family and friends and unending love from our Father in Heaven!

HOW TO Tuesday

I am starting a new thing every Tuesday where I present a How To: Post.
I am going to included anything and everything(yes. This probably mean me doing some research on topics) Rest assure that I will post about things that I feel most everyone can do!

here is the FIRST tuesday how to:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How To: Save the piggy bank when planning a Wedding
(things that have worked for me)

1. Find Wedding Invitations on SALE *
-Club Wed @ Target always offers a sale on invitations
-Check on Ebay for invitations sold in bulk

2. Print your own invitations- Lets face it…the Invites are elegant and beautiful and going in the TRASH! Save your $$$!
Buy ink for your printer; get creative and ‘wha-la’ great invitations!

3. Ask Friends and family for help!
Your friend from college DJs on the side. Your sister’s best friend is a phenomenal photographer. You simply adore your older sister’s wedding veil. Your girlfriend just got married and has decorations that she may lend you (wink wink). Your Mom’s friend can do amazing wedding cakes. Your grandmother can do alterations! The list just goes on!

4. Make your own veil! (Will include this how-to next week)
Tulle- $0.77-$2.00/yd.
Haircomb-$2-$15(depending on how fancy)
Beads or flowers-$5-$15
Having saved $100 or more and your own personal creation- priceless!

5. Big flowers…less money
Try using hydrangea, dahlias or large gerbera daisies. They take up a lot of room so you don’t have to use as many! All these flowers also come in a wide range of beautiful colors.

6. Get Nerdy $
-Make an Excel spread sheet of your desired budget. Commit to the budget and let your vendors know your budget. Remember: They are working for you! You are paying them and most will more than willing to help you for your special day.
--Compare vendor prices. Sit down and do all the math…it will pay off!

7. Do-it-yourself Save the Dates!
Use your beautiful engagement shots or just some silly shots of your and future hubby. Login to PICNIK Edit and arrange your pics and add text to make it look the way you want. When you save your creation, it will save directly to your desktop on your computer. Transfer the file to your thumb drive and you can print our your adorable save the dates at Sam’s club for $0.13 a piece or at your closest photo center for usually under $0.50.

I hope these help to save your piggy bank!

with all my love,
XOXO,

Where are all the YardSales??

I woke myself up this morning at the crack of dawn to throw on a t-shirt and ballcap and hit the streets for the Saturday yard sales.

I guess I just missed the memo about NOBODY wanting to sell their stuff today.
I only found maybe 5 different sales and they should have been named more like "crap sales"
I am so bummed.

I did find a cute little sale at an elementary school raising money for "Relay for Life"
I left with a 25cent 1/2 inch conair curling iron.

I was in a sour mood from my bad luck so I didnt buy anything else.
I love the little thing, but am feeling guilty about my contribution (or lack there of) for the cause.

Man what a bummer.
Maybe more luck with the sunshine decides to come out.

Have a good Saturday Bloggies

How Ugly? REAL ugly!

The Traditional Ugly Dress Party went down last night
and let me tell you there was some hideous things to see.

Oh yes we had a wonderful time getting ready, slapping on a pound of makeup and trying not to look in the mirror!

I just happened to win "Ugliest RA" for our dorm. haha.

There are prizes awarded to the Ugliest at the Party:
1.Ugliest Hair/Make-up
2. Ugliest Dress
3. Queen of Ugly (best overall)

She won QUEEN OF UGLY

I has so much fun but am sad because this was my last UDP. I'm glad I did it right and went out with a bang.

___________________________________________________________________
I found the Adorable story and Just had to share it!
( I Kind of hope something happens like this at my wedding)

Wedding Story ( As only a child could do...)

A little boy was in a relative's wedding. As he was coming down
the aisle he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd (alternating
between bride's side and groom's side). While facing the crowd, he
would put his hands up like claws and roar...so it went, step, step, ROAR,
step, step, ROAR all the way down the aisle. As you can imagine, the crowd
was near tears from laughing so hard by the time he reached the front.
The little boy, however, was getting more and more distressed from all the
laughing, and was also near tears by the time he reached the front. .
When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said, "I was being the
Ring Bear..."

With all my love
XOXO,
