I am current phoneless for about a week. Last Wednesday I was on my way back from a meeting. My hands were full and my phone was on top of the tower of books. I saw it coming and could do nothing about it, my phone slipped and tumbled to the floor. I managed to pull a miraculous soccer-like move with my foot to deflect my phone from crashing to the floor and I felt good about saving my phone's life. But when I bent down to pick it up, the screen was all jumbled up and scrambled. UGH! I has been worse everyday since and I have to wait a week to get a replacement.
I am going crazy!! No calls in or out, no texting, no emails. Just listen to how much of a spoiled brat I sound :)
Not having my blackberry has honestly made me slow down and realize how much I depend on that little unreliable peice of plastic.
Of course God has such a sense of humor, because I ran into this email during my blackberry crisis:
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?
This is something to make you go…hmmm…where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don’t ever have to worry about our bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!
I love how the Lord lets things slow me down and remind me of my what my true focuses should be throughout the day.
Blackberryless and not worried about it anyone!
Blackberryless and not worried about it anyone!
With so much love
